I wonder if people are still worried about Teague in KY. I said it from the beginning. He needed to be deprogrammed from how he played in HS/AAU. Cal has done it. Marquis continues to get better. He is running this team to perfection. He plays great defense and will keep improving on the other end of the floor. He was rated as the best PG in America last year for a reason even though some people out there tried to and still try to say he isn't any good.
Missouri is one team that definitely wouldn't scare me. On D we have the athletes switch all our man to man match ups. They wouldn't get the mismatches they are used to when they play teams with stiffs for bigs. They have no size inside. They would want to run with us and unless they make 15-20 three's they scare me not one bit.
As I said before. Those recruiting guys think UCLA leads because someone on the UCLA staff is telling them that. They want that out there so it can help with a Tony Parker and for other reasons. I never listen to what a writer says publicly about recruiting. They are only repeating what someone talking to them wants repeated.
Adding to that it works with Kentucky too. When you hear someone in the Ky media saying publicly they are being told by someone close to UK that they lead for this player or that player its total BS. There is no one on the UK staff who actually knows stuff that goes talking recruits with the open media. Just doesn't happen. They may be getting told that by people they think know the deal but no one on staff is saying a word to them. Its all grain of salt type stuff.
Certain schools talk to recruiting guys about who they think they are getting and who they lead for. Then there are schools who don't say a word to those guys. You can guess which one of those UK is. Ever notice UK doesn't get put in the lead often with a player with thise "gurus" unless its beyond obvious. There is a reason why that happens.
I think talking Cal to the NBA is just a way for people who need things to talk about to do just that. It fills time. It fills space. Could it happen someday, most likely will but people act like its on verge of happening now. I'm not one bit worried about it at this time. To me at least the subject is way over hyped.
Parker hasn't even really started to think or talk about recruiting. To say Calipari and UK don't have a good shot is just silly. They will be right in the mix. Parker family has a lot of connections to people who know or played for Cal and /or UK.
